Observatory

The Cybercrime Observatory of the Ministry of the Interior is constituted in the OCC.

Threats to cybersecurity, cybercrime and disinformation campaigns, among other peculiarities, are characterized by an unexpected and rapid irruption that can have a great impact on public security. For this reason, it is essential for the Ministry of the Interior to have the capabilities to detect these phenomena of information and communication technologies and to be able to carry out an adequate prevention, protection and response.

The purpose of this Observatory is to monitor and detect trends in order to face new challenges and threats in this field, collect, process and analyze information on cybersecurity, cybercrime and disinformation campaigns, with the aim of developing intelligence products, as well as preventive and response plans.
