The OCC took part in the annual “Locked Shields 2026” exercise, organised by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence, which took place from 20 to 24 April, establishing itself as one of the largest and most advanced cyber defence exercises in the world.

This cyber exercise assesses teams’ ability to protect critical infrastructure and strategic systems against complex cyberattacks, highlighting the need for a coordinated response across the physical, digital and cognitive domains; and international cooperation in the face of hybrid threats, fostering collaboration between NATO nations and their partners to standardise response protocols to global threats.
